Quick answer: Legend Boats are built in Whitefish, Ontario, and pair naturally with Mercury power. Most Legend hulls 17-21 ft are happy on a Mercury 90-150 FourStroke, often Command Thrust on the heavier models. Stay inside the capacity plate. For pricing on the engines included in Legend power packages, see the Ontario Mercury Outboard Price Guide and Best Mercury Outboard for Pontoon Boats. The Mercury Controls & Rigging Guide (Ontario) covers what's included in a typical rigging package, and Mercury Outboard Warranty (Canada 2026) explains the factory coverage.
If you're shopping a new aluminum fishing boat or a pontoon in Ontario, Legend Boats is going to come up. They're Canada's best-selling aluminum boat brand, every model is paired with a Mercury outboard, and they're the boat we sell most often at Harris Boat Works.
This is the boat-by-boat overview, what's in the 2026 lineup, what each hull does well, which Mercury motor pairs with each, and how the all-in pricing works.
Why Legend + Mercury Is the Combination
A few facts that matter:
- Legend is a Canadian company headquartered in Whitefish, Ontario, near Sudbury. Boats are designed by Canadians for Canadian boating conditions.
- Sells exclusively in Canada. Legend isn't trying to be a global brand, every model is sized, equipped, and warrantied for Canadian buyers.
- Mercury Marine is Legend's exclusive engine partner. Every Legend ships with a Mercury outboard, eligible for Mercury's standard 3-year warranty (extendable to 8 years).
- 6-Year WOWranty on Legend boat components, Leakproof for Life hull warranty (transferable up to 10 years), and a Lifetime Floor Warranty.
- All-In Pricing in Ontario includes freight, prep, and most essential equipment. The number on the page is close to the number that drives away.
We've been a Mercury dealer since 1965 and a Legend dealer for years. The combination is genuinely the most popular new-boat package on Rice Lake and through the Kawarthas.
The 2026 V-Hull / Fishing Boat Lineup
Five series in the 2026 V-hull lineup, ranked roughly entry-level to top-tier:
Pulse, entry-level, 10 ft
The Pulse is built differently from anything else in the lineup, rotomolded HDPE plastic hull, virtually unsinkable. Single 10-foot length only, max 15 HP. Starting $5,999 CAD with a small Mercury 4-stroke.
Best for: First-time boaters, kids' boats, cottage runabouts, anyone who wants a near-indestructible hull that doesn't need spring service.
R Series, budget aluminum, 12-16 ft
The R Series is riveted aluminum, not welded, the entry price comes from the rivets. Two configurations: R Series Ultralite (12-14 ft, boat-only options) and R Series ProSport (14-16 ft, motor + trailer packages).
Starting at $5,399 CAD for the smallest Ultralite hulls; ProSport packages with a Mercury 25 ELPT and trailer run $15,000-$22,000 all-in.
Best for: Budget-conscious anglers, kicker / second-boat buyers, light-duty utility.
XF Series, 16-18 ft, serious fishing
The XF Series moves up to welded aluminum with a deeper-V hull (17° deadrise, the same as Legend's premium hulls). Starting $36,999 CAD with a Mercury 50 ELPT; max-rigged with a Mercury 90 ELPT, you're around $48,000-$52,000 CAD.
Best for: Mid-range fishermen who want a real fishing boat without going to premium pricing. Solid all-around platform.
XT Series, 17-20 ft, premium fishing/family hybrid
The XT Series is brand-new for 2026 and the most-talked-about Legend lineup we've seen in years. Four lengths: 17 XT, 18 XT, 19 XT, 20 XT. Starting at $56,999 CAD for the 17 with a Mercury 115 EXLPT; the 20 XT with a Mercury 175 lands around $71,999 CAD.
What's new on the XT:
- Convertible "Frunk" bow, the bow seating converts to fishing space and back
- 50/50 Extenda-deck Converta-bench, multi-position seating that becomes casting deck or storage
- RIGS (Railmountz Integrated Gunnel System), modular accessory mounting
- 75L livewell
- Helix 7 fish finder standard
- Minn Kota PowerDrive trolling motor included
Best for: The boater who wants premium fishing features with family-day flexibility. We've quoted more XTs in the first six months of 2026 than any other Legend model in the same window.
Titanium 19 Rugged, top-tier
The Titanium is the heaviest-duty V-hull in the line. 0.125-gauge aluminum (everything else is 0.100), RIGS gunnel system, hydraulic steering, full tournament-style fishing layout. Starting $86,999 CAD with a Mercury 115 EXLPT; max HP is 150.
Best for: Tournament anglers, guides, anyone running serious water who wants the thickest hull in the lineup. Less common, we move 1-2 a year.
The 2026 Pontoon Lineup
Three series across three positioning bands:
LE Series, entry-level pontoons, 15-21 ft
You can build a live CAD quote for your repower online at Mercury Repower Centre.
Best-value pontoon line. 2-tube standard with optional 3-tube on the 21. Mercury 25-40 ELPT Command Thrust standard depending on size. Starting $39,999 CAD for the 15 LE C; the 21 LE rigged with a Mercury 90 EXLPT runs around $48,000-$50,000 CAD.
Best for: First-time pontoon buyers, weekend cottage families, anyone who wants the pontoon experience without premium pricing.

Q Series, premium comfort pontoons, 21-23 ft
Step-up tier. 2-tube or 3-tube options. Garmin 52CV GPS standard. Premium furniture and finish. Starting $56,999 CAD.
Best for: Buyers who want comfort and electronics without the design statement of the Halo.
Halo, modern-design pontoons, 19-23 ft
The Halo is Legend's most distinctive pontoon, PolyForm construction, 360° seating, JBL audio, modern aesthetic that doesn't look like every other pontoon at the marina. $48,999-$51,999 CAD depending on size. Mercury 115 EXLPT standard.
Best for: Younger families, design-conscious buyers, anyone who wants a pontoon that doesn't blend into the dock.
“Test-drove three pontoons. The Legend with the Mercury 115 Command Thrust was the only one that came up on cruise clean with seven adults on it. That was the test that ended my shopping.

Mercury Power Pairings That Make Sense
The standard motor on each Legend hull is sized for the typical use case, but the question we get most is should I upgrade? Here's the framework:
| Hull |
Standard Mercury |
Common upgrade |
When to upgrade |
| Pulse 10 |
None (boat-only or small 4-stroke) |
Mercury 9.9-15 4-stroke |
Always, boat needs power |
| R Ultralite 12-14 |
None or 9.9 ProKicker |
15-25 ELPT |
If using as primary boat, not kicker |
| R ProSport 14-16 |
Mercury 20-25 ELPT |
Mercury 30-40 ELPT |
More capacity, more weight on board |
| XF 16-18 |
Mercury 50-90 ELPT |
Mercury 90-115 ELPT |
Family days with full crew, watersports |
| XT 17-20 |
Mercury 90-175 |
Pro XS upgrade |
Tournament fishing, top speed matters |
| Titanium 19 |
Mercury 115 EXLPT |
Mercury 150 |
Max HP rating; for tournament-grade performance |
| LE 15-21 |
Mercury 25-40 ELPT CT |
Mercury 60-115 ELPT CT |
More passengers, watersports towing |
| Q 21-23 |
Mercury 60 ELPT CT |
Mercury 150-250 |
Watersports, larger passenger loads |
| Halo 19-23 |
Mercury 115 EXLPT |
Verado options on 23 |
Premium experience, single-engine boat |
Command Thrust (CT) matters on pontoons. It's a larger gearcase that turns a bigger prop more slowly, way more thrust at low speed, much better for moving heavy pontoon hulls. Standard on most LE Series motors and a no-brainer on heavier pontoons.
Pro XS matters on the XT 18 and up. Performance-tuned variants of the FourStroke with sport gearcases and higher RPM ceilings. Adds 3-5 mph top end and quicker hole shot. Worth it on a tournament-spec hull.
Verado is the premium option on bigger Halo and Q Series pontoons, naturally aspirated V8/V10s, the smoothest and quietest Mercury platform. Significant cost step; for higher-end boats only.
All-In Pricing. What That Actually Includes
Legend's "All-In Pricing" model means the price you see on the website includes:
- The boat
- The Mercury motor
- The trailer (most packages, verify per-model)
- Freight to dealer
- Pre-delivery inspection and prep
- Most standard equipment
Not included in All-In:
- HST
- Optional electronics upgrades (chartplotter upgrades beyond standard)
- Custom rigging changes
- Extended warranty (Mercury Product Protection, well worth considering)
- Accessories (anchors, life jackets beyond minimum, fishing electronics beyond standard)
Plan on 5-8% on top of the listed price for HST and reasonable optional equipment. Bigger optional packages can push higher.

Why Buy a Legend at HBW Specifically
A few things that aren't on the Legend website:
Mercury repower path is built-in. Every Legend ships with a Mercury outboard, and we're a Mercury Platinum dealer. When the original engine eventually needs replacement (10-15 years out, typically), we already have your records, your boat history, and the right rigging knowledge. No starting over with a new dealer.
On-water service. We're at Gores Landing on Rice Lake. If your Legend needs warranty work or service, you don't have to trailer it 90 minutes to a dealer in another county. Drop it at our slip, pick it up running.
Trade-in math. We take Legend trade-ins (and most other brands). Single-transaction trade saves the Kijiji hassle and gives you tax-on-difference savings on the new boat (you only pay HST on the price difference between trade and new, not the full new price).
Real conversations. We're not the biggest Legend dealer in Ontario. We're not trying to be. What we are is a third-generation family business that's been on this lake since 1947 and that has time to actually walk you through which hull is right for the way you'll use the boat.
